Lake Mendota: Smallmouth bite remains good they are located on structure in 23-28 feet of water. The Perch fishing has slowed a bit along the weed lines we are still getting a few just not the numbers as past, live bait and gulp presentations have been working the best.

Lake Monona: Bluegills are still being found along the weed lines and suspended in water less than 30 feet of water 10-20 feet down best presentatations has been small jigging spoons or 1/32 green jig with a 1" Gulp fry minnow/waxworms. Musky were around weeds both above and outside them chasing suspended panfish.

Lake Waubesa: Crappie and Bluegills bite remains good best locations are 12-14 feet of water along weed lines and main lake points. Best presentatation has been small jigging spoons or 1/32 green jig with a 1" Gulp fry minnow/waxworms. Bass fishing has slowed a bit they have moved into the shallower weed beds. Walleye bite is picking up as the water cools they have been located along weed lines and along drop-offs 23-28 feet of water jigging/live bait has been the best presentation.

8/17 Lake Mendota, sunny, 72 degrees, water temp 73 degrees. S wind, we caught twelve 9-12 inch perch and 6 smallmouth Most of the fish were caught on split shot rigged whole/half night crawlers and slip bobbered medium suckers. Best locations were rocks and outside weed lines near Gov Inland, Fox Bluff.

8/18 Lake Monona, sunny, 75 degrees, water temp 71 degrees. wind at 5 or less caught 30 bluegills and a few perch/crappies. Best locations were rocks and outside weed lines near Turville Bay, Rock Pile.

8/19 Lake Waubesa, am, sunny, 72 degrees, water temp 71 degrees. S hanging to west wind at 5-10, Caught 0ver 45 bluegills keep 23 for a fry. Most of the fish were caught on 1/32 green jigs with gulp slip bobber. Best locations were rocks and outside weed lines near Green lantern, Rock Pile, Rockford Heights, and the weedline out from Hog Inland.

8/20 Lake Waubesa, am, sunny, 70 degrees, water temp 71 degrees. west wind at 5-10, caught 2 walleyes and over 45 panfish keeping 27 for a fry gills/crappie were caught on 1/32 green jigs with gulp. The walleyes on a 1/8th oz jig/live bait/gulp. Best locations were rocks and outside weed lines near Green lantern, Rock Pile, Rockford Heights, Bible Camp. Went casting for musky on my own around main lake points before dark had something big caught on a orange bulldog that got off after being on for about a minute and saw one other fish boat side.
