Fishing continues to be pretty darn good this season, even with the unusually warm temps. I spend most of my time targeting walleyes, and whereas the bite isn't as fast as it was earlier in the season, as long as you are patient and present the baits properly they are willing to bite. The attached photos show a sample of what we caught this past week. 1/8 ounce jigs tipped with crawlers worked around drowned wood or deep weed edges in the 10' to 18' depth range is where we have been finding our fish.

Largemouth bass have been very active as well. We have been catching them incidentally while fishing for walleyes but I have spent some time targeting them as well. When I have been fishing for them specifically I have been using mostly plastics and working deeper weeds.

Smallmouth bass are starting to move to deeper rock structure on lakes like Tomahawk, although some fish are still also relating shallow structure as well. Plastics or crank baits work well for them this time of year. If they are fussy, crawlers or leeches will usually produce results.

I haven't been fishing for musky lately but we've had two encounters with them this past week. One grabbing a walleye on us and one hitting a jig and crawler. One was landed. Both fish were in the 40" range. This tells me that they are liking the warming water temps.
