Fished this past Saturday with my good friend and partner Sam W. in the 2012 Jake Wolf. 55 anglers battled the hot weather for the day from 6 am to 2 pm. 6 muskies were caught for the event with others seen and lost. We got our fish 15 minutes into the tournament. I caught it in the figure 8 on a bucktail. Seen 5 other legal muskies in the first hour as well. Around 8 am it seemed like the switch was turned off. We trolled for about 3 hours with no rips. Fished Catherine, Channel, Marire and Bluff. Water temps in the mid 70's.
Congrats to my good friends and fellow FRV members Ken and Dan on their win and Big Fish for the event. There fish came trolling in the last hour of the event. This goes to show you "a squirrel can always fun a nut somewhere"! LOL
Wonderful job by Russ and Steve on coordinating the event this year. Good people, raffle prizes and food at the Thirsty Turtle capped off the day.
