Lake Mendota Catfish 5/21

Was out from 4pm-930pm on Mendota fishing cut shiners and suckers for catfish. Seemed to be 6 or 7 other boats in the Yahara/Six Mile/Rock pile area moving from spot to spot to try and pick them up. Saw one caught near Sixmile Creek about 6 pm as I was moving in to try out a spot there. I picked up a nice 32 incher around 8:00 and it was my only strike of the evening. I'm wondering if the warmer weather has made the action spottier than normal. Heading out again this evening, will report back.

5/22 trip produced no strikes fishing between 6 and 9:30 pm. Fished mostly between the big rock pile back towards six mile creek. 4-5 boats further up towards the Yahara river mouth 400-500 yards. Saw no fish caught. The algae blooms were really thick up towards the North End, moreso than the last couple of weeks.
