I waited out the lightning and got on LBDN with high hopes. Set up South of Saunders where I marked a bunch of fish. Drifted floating jigs and 1/2 crawler and vertical jigged with no results in 30-40 feet of water.
Moved into the upper bay, fished the same program with no takers in 30 plus feet. Pulled Crawler harnesses with no results for about an hour.
Moved way North into 10-20 feet of water. No results until after an hour picked up a nice 19 inch walleye on a floating jig and crawler. The wind then switched to the west and blew a gale. Started drifting an assortment of baits, searching for the right thing. Moving at 1-1.3 mph with the drift sock out I picked up 5 more walleyes, one short fish in the bunch.
Bled those 5 walleyes in the live well and put them on ice before I left the water. Shucked the sides off when I got home and have a fish fry planned for tonight.
