Ice is out

Well almost. Most of the main lake ice is out but the back bays still have some ice. Usually it's the back bays that go out first but not this year. The river channels opened up a lot of water in the main lake areas first. I'd guess that more than half of the lake is ice free. Probably closer to two thirds. I'd have to see an overhead photo but looking from the bridge at the Landing it's pretty wide open.

That was 2011 Stu. You can't cary over from last year.

Should make for some good bass and walleye fishing when you get up here though with this early ice out.
