Well, the last weekend of angling for game fish was a good one. Our guests reported catching a number of walleyes off the sand bar in front of the Flambeau Vista Cabins and near the old Hiawatha Resort. Large crappies and perch (14" +) were also reported to be caught near "Lone Pine" Island, which is just north of the old Hiawatha Resort where you will see a number of shanties due to the good fishing.

The recent snow has put a real damper on travel on the flowage due to slush, but it is a great asset to the snowmobile trails with riders reporting excellent trail conditions.

Ice fishing for crappies, perch and gills should remain good for another few weeks given we have about 20" of ice on the flowage. Though we have a forcast of 50 degree temps for Wednesday and Thursday, the trail conditions should remain great given we had 20' of snow on Feb. 29th and it is still snowing today, March 4th, 2012.

Please come and embrace the Northwood's Winter Wonderland.
