My buddies from Minnesota came up for the weekend and we hammered the crappies pretty good. we kept enough for a meal and threw the rest back. We had quite a few over 11 inches that we let go. The largest were a pair of 13 1/2 inchers and one a little bigger than those. We caught them on some plastics, minnows, and plain old jig and waxworms. Green and white glow jigs were best late with white plastics or purple plastics during the morning hours.
We also caught some nice eating sized pike. They tasted pretty darn good if I don't say so myself. Those were on tipups. I think we kept two of those. That was enough to feed quite a few people.
Lots of fun with good friends. I need to start posting pics of some of the larger ones. I'll start doing that.
