WOW! What a weekend. Nearly 900 anglers and participants graced the ice for the Justin Donner Memorial Fisheree at Donners Bay Resort for a spectacular time. The fishing action was a bit slow with the high pressure front coming into the area, but despite that some nice 20" plus walleyes and some beautiful 12" plus inch crappies were caught along with some Northerns and Jumbo Perch. The raffle prizes were fantastic, as were the fireworks.
We had 4" of new wet snow fall on Friday Night/Saturday Morning that has made trail conditions good to excellent. We saw an area that the groomer had gone through this morning and it was pristine as of noon, so come up and ride these trails!
Don't forget about the Claus Kraetke Memorial Ice Fishing Jamboree on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012 outside of Donners Bay Resort in the heated tent. Cash prizes for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd largest walleye, northern, bass, perch and crappie are to had by the lucky anglers. In addition there are great raflfle prizes, auctions, food and beverages throughout the day. Contest fishing starts at 7:00 am and ends at 4:00 pm. Don't miss this event.
