Stable Weather at Last! Last Wednesday Mille Lacs smallmouths began getting on their summer patterns. Stable weather with with fishable winds have made a big difference on the lake.

Wednesday fished with Jeff France and Morgan Bickel from Plymouth Mn. It was day 1 post cold front, with high skys and calm winds. Bite improved as the day wore on. In the end caught and released about 40 fish with the largest 4pounds 12 oz. Fish were taking a variety of baits, spinnerbaits, soft plastics and even had some action on topwater.

Thursdayand Fridays bite day 2&3 post front....was even better! Top water action was really picking up, and saw schools of smb roaming around the reefs. Best spots were deep rocks in 10- 15 feet of water. For you musky guys saw several muskys in the 40 plus range roaming the points of the reefs.

Lake conditions:

Surface Temp" 75 - 79 degrees
Water Clearity: Green algae bloom. "Pea soup" green in some areas.
Forage: Bugs not a factor, but tons of orange crayfish and pods of small fry/minnows visible on reefs,
