The heat was extreme again to start the week. Finally had some relief in the form of a series of storm cells that brough severe lightning, thunder, rain and some wind on Wednesday, before the humidty broke and it cooled down Thursday. Friday was the start of a classic cold front, that brough tstrong winds that continued through Saturday (23rd.)

Fishing was good depsite the extreme weather. Muskies were active, if not snapping good in the heat. Lots of follows and some strikes that could not stay pinned were the only reason not to call it a fantastic week. Fish were busy after the storms on Wednedsay and Thursday, but seemed to shut right down later Friday when the wind shifted to the north. One of our long-time groups said they had never seen so many fish in all the years of coming to LOTW. The big fish reported from last week was a 48.5" beauty, but several nicer fish were hooked and lost and spotted, but did not commit. Spinner baits in the weeds and jerk baits were the hottest tickets.

Walleyes were still on the rocks, but have scattered a bit after the cold front. Live baits will be important until they come back up on the rocks.

Still prime time on LOTW and there have been some good fish caught this week already!
