Been on the pond as much as I possible can, cosidering the bout of bad weather we've had since the last report.

Lake conditions have changed.
Water temp earlier last week was 75 to 77 degrees with all the very hot days last week. Cold front came thru last Thurs/Fri (cant remember) and the water surface temp had dropped to 73 -75 degrees as of yesterday Sunday.

Water Clearity: Algea bloom pretty much covers the entire lake. Green water with visability to 4-5 feet.

Big females are beginning to show up on the reef. yesterdays trip yielded about 30 fish with 4 or 5 over 4 pounds 18-20 inches. Most fish were the 2.5 to 3+ pound fish. Saw fish schooling on the reefs and some eating small minnows (perch I think) and was able to catch them on top water. Most of our fish were caught using soft plastics.

Bug Hatch: Havnt had a major bug hatch this week so the fishing has been good. If the mayflies have a big hatch look for topwater action and for the bite to slow somewhat.

With warmer temps fish have to eat often...look for the dog days of August to mean... better goet out on the pond and wet a line.
