Lake Superior smallies

I am planning a trip to the Hayward/Cable area Aug 14-20 and plan to take a day and go to Superior. The plan is to put in at Washburn. Any suggestions as to where to fish for smallies and walleyes? Techniques for each as well? Plan to troll for walleyes, and cast for smallies, but open to other ideas.

fish the rock pile about a mile east of washburn marina. also the sharp break aprox 1/4 mile S-S/W of the cheq bay light on the end of Long island.
