I had the honor of being one of 10 guys this year at the fourth annual Operation Muskie (operationmuskie.com & on Face Book). Once again it was held at the best musky camp on LOTW…Walsh's Bay Store Camp (www.baystorecamp.com).

We welcomed 20 new veterans this year, which included two ladies. Opening ceremonies presented by Mr. Dick Pearson. All vets received a musky rod/reel combo and lures. To all the tackle companies that donated…WOW! Each vet received about 20 lures and some personalized. Let me say "thank you" to those companies. We all seen the smiles on each vet as they were marveling through the items. Made me very proud.

As each day came to an end, we learned of some nice muskies being caught along with some respectable northerners. Lot of bonus fish, small mouth bass and walleyes. Never seen before, one of the guides snagged about a 30 lb. snapping turtle.

Best part of the event was the camaraderie we all shared at the campfire.

All good things must come to an end and Friday was that day. After closing ceremony we got our vets back to Young's Bay, we ended with hand shacks and memories of the past week. God Bless all our veterans. God Bless our men and women of the armed forces.
