Finally got on the water around 7am after sitting in the parking lot for about an hour waiting for the t-storms to pass. Water clarity was pretty good, water temp was around 78 main-lake, and the frog bite was on. Unfortunately we only had an hour or so to really take advantage of it, as the sun was up enough to kill it by 9. Landed a few 14" fish in the shallow grass on points, missed as many as we caught; of course those were the bigger ones ;) Couldn't get bit on insides of the points to the back of creeks and ended up wasting a lot of valuable time trying. From 930-1130 we tried deep cranks on weed edges and draggin some main-lake humps with minimal success. The boat traffic and lack of bites was enough to send us home around noon. All in all a decent day of fishing, we just wished we'd had been able to be fishing at sunup. And once again, not one smallmouth!
