Generally, the pike fishing in the bay is kind of slow until after the 4th of July. Things have been running a week or two behind normal this year, so you should be hitting it when things are just getting started. Anywhere you find weeds, you'll find pike. The Escanaba harbor is a good place to start. Other good weedbeds to try can be found on the East side of the bay in an area called Black Bottom, off the Gladstone swimming beach, the North side of Saunder's Point, and around Butler's Island. Spinnerbaits and crankbaits like Bomber Long-A's are my favorite pike lures. Floating a sucker minnow under a slip bobber can also be very effective.

Good luck. let us know how you do.
