Walleyes fishing was good again this past week. Starting to see more boats on humps so the summer pattern is beginning to take shape. Minnows, leeches were the hot tickets..crawlers picking up the rear. Reef fishing can be all over the map in terms of depth. The depths of reefs will change depending on the depth of the rest of the basin surrounding it. Find the shallow part of the hump and work out from there. Also heard some reports of walleyes biting in the weeds on small spinner baits for those pitching for bass. Several nice walleyes caught and released during the week with a 30" fish being the highlight.

Northern action was superb in Obabikon Lake this week. Several boats fished up there every day and the bite was strong day in and day out. Shallow weeds of course were the attraction. Two nice northerns caught and released while anglers fished walleyes included 41 and 42 inchers. One on a jig, the other on a spinner.

Muskie fishing was a bit off and on to start. Most of the action in and around cabbage weeds. The presence of another structural element with the weeds was more likely to produce a fish. A couple of 50 inchers on the board to start the season so we'll look for a big year for big fish down on our end.

Water temps finally coming up over 70 and should stay there as forecast is for warm weather in the near future.
