Weather was a bit windy early in the week and then turned into a gorgeous weekend. After the winds calmed down, fish started to come back up on the shorelines and humps closer to shore with 8-15 feet was the most commnon depth. We sold a pile of minnows the end of last week and the weekend with the gorgeous weather and good bite. Jigs were hot with the light winds, but spinners were popular as well. Leeches were also a popular choice for the walleye anglers.
Fish co-operated nicely with several personal bests and fish up to 29 3/4" inches were caught and released. One boat caught over 100 walleyes in a day so the bite was definitely on.
Northerns up in OB earlier in the week were hot and heavy again as usual. There were an unlimited number of 24" snakes to be had for anyone up there throwing small spinner baits and spoons.
Weather is looking reasonable for this coming week and the bite has started off pretty good again. Looking forward to muskie opener on Saturday. I hope to get out by 4-5 to get a shot at my first opening day muskie ever.
