What a great weekend for the opener and Wisconsin Angling Adventures was out in force on the Willow Flowage, Lac Vieux Desert, North Twin, and Forest Lake. Blue skies, comfortable temperatures, and little wind made this one of the nicest openers in a while. With plenty of boats on the water, the fish also responded. Plenty of perfect "eater" walleyes from 16-18" found their way into the boats and some helped make some great shore lunches. Most fish were found in post spawn areas (rock and gravel) in about 8-10 feet of water and a jig and minnow or crankbait was the hot lure. As the wind picked up a bit on Sunday, the fishing got even better. Wind driven shorelines were the ticket with the same baits but many of the fish were real shallow (2-3 feet). Along with walleyes, we also caught a ton of smallmouth bass, crappies, and northerns. I have posted some pictures from Sunday night and will post more later in the week. Great weekend, great friends, great fishing, and the rib-eye steaks on Sunday..... out of this world!!
Take a kid fishing.

See you on the water
