With all the wind Sunday, my dad, myself, and a buddy of mine headed inland to look for some crappies. We did really well this time last year, and hoped to duplicate our success. Well, we didn't:( Water temps last year in the same lake were 55 to 60 degrees. This trip, it was about 10 degrees cooler, and the bite was off. We ended up catching 6 small pike, a largemouth, and only one crappie. On the plus side, it was a 13 incher! It'll probably be at least another week until they turn on. This lake has a sand and rock bottom, and will take longer to warm up. If you know a lake with a dark bottom, downed timber in at least 3 to 4 FOW, and temps in the mid to upper 50's, you might want to check it out!

Good luck.
