Here we go again. 2011 is looking like it could be the best fishing in many years. Its been a long cold winter but there are signs of spring in the air. This week the weather will finally give us a break. The few times we could get on the water this winter the fishing was very good below the dam at Ft Thompson. The size was fantastic the numbers were great, couldnt be better. Lake francis Case and Lake Sharpe will have lots of nice walleyes and smallmouth again. These two lakes have catch rates as high as 80 to 100 fish a day in our boats. There is a lot of water in the system again this year. Lake Oahe is showing bigger numbers of larger walleye than any time in the past 10 years. Lot of fish over 28 inches were caught this winter. This could be the start of fishing like the days of old. Because of all the water in Oahe it will start later in June and July should be the best month. There is going to be great fishing all spring and summer some place on these three lakes so if you come in the spring thru Sept you will have a trip of a life time. See you on the river
