Hi everyone,

Well, we had to cancel da U.P. trip again. They are still looking for the lake we were going to fish. It got buried last night. Called a guy we know on the lake and were told not to come. Nothing can get around on the ice. With the recent snow, they have 30-36" of snow on the ice. All that weight is sure to create slush problems.

So we fished a lake closer to home. Just out of Minocqua. it has a size limit of 1 over 14" and a bag limit of 2, but it also has good Perch. We met Jigboy's buddy Jerry out on the ice and had a good time. When all was done, we had 6 Walleyes and a bunch of Perch. Some were 11-12". We also caught a smallmouth Bass and some real small Blugills. The Bass and 1 Walleye were caught on tip ups baited with sucker minnows, while all the other fish were caught jigging. I caught my limit of Walleyes jigging with a Jigrap baited with a whole crappie minnow. Jigboy and Jerry used small jigs baited with waxxies and mousies.
The fish were roaming an 18 foot mud flats eating mostly insect larvae.

The weather was very mild temp. wise with very little wind. It snowed all day, but not a ton. Just a lite blanket of snow. the lite wind was from the east.

Don't know where we're going tomorrow. We'll decide that in the morning. Time to go clean some fish. Good luck to all going out. Feel free to make a report and share your fishing stories with us.

Looks like you guys had a good day. Some nice perch in there too.

Well, fished with my son-in-law and his brother today from about 2-7:30pm. The word for the day was small. Mostly it was very slow. Had a short peak of activity between 6 til 6:30 where we caught most of the fish then after that we could not get a bite. Ended up catching 4 walleye (12"-13"), 6 crappies, and one perch, everything was released. But definitely nothing of any size. Had fun anyway.
