Snow cover is making it easier to get around on the ice.

Ice conditions 15 to 18 inches.

Best bite this week has been Perch, hali spoons tipped with a wiggler or small fathead working best. Try dead sticking it about 4 inches off the bottom. Look for the best action on the flats.

Walleye bite is fair to good (depending on who you talk to!) But most reports are a good bite from 11 am thru 1 pm and then again 3 pm thru 5 pm, Lake Alice has a good bite at 10 pm too. Medium size shiners or small suckers for bait. Some anglers are having good luck using Chubby Darters.

Bluegills seem to have gotten smaller this week but the action is still good. Bro Bugs are hot and so are Hexi Flies tipped with a spike.

Crappies! where have they gone!! Not much to report.

Pike action is still fast and furious. Try casting #13 Rapalas or spinnerbaits along the weed edges, Oh wait Im in the wrong season!!!
Use smelt sitting on or near the bottom in 4 to 5 feet of water. Large shiners or suckers are working well too. Some big Pike once again registered this week, up to 37 inches.

Good Luck
Dave
