Rain is making travel on the ice sloppier then ever. We lost some ice in the bay behind the shop. Lots of slush.

Perch reports are very good, fish the stump fields in 6 feet of water. Hali spoons tipped with a shiner head or a small minnow catching nice fish. Jig the hali spoon by dropping it to the bottom then bringing it back up to about 6 inches off the bottom. You will probably catch some walleye this way too!

Pike action is still very good with them hitting almost anything. 2 nice pike out of Mohawksin this week with the largest being 35 inches. These fish are crusing the bays looking for dinner. Large suckers or smelt working best.

Crappies are in 8 to 10 feet of water, black jigs tipped with a wiggler catching some slabs. Tip Downs with rosies and # 14 trebles is another good set up.

Walleye, Jigging Rapala's or Chubby Darters still hot this week. Good bite from 11 am untill 1 pm then again 5 pm untill 7 pm. If tip up fishing use small suckers or Milw. shiners.

Happy New Year
Good Luck Fishing
