Friday October 1st was our last chapter of the 2010 Petenwell Musky Challenge. The Lord above presented us with blue bird skies and a flowage willing and waiting to accept our gift, the muskies!

About 20 friends consisting of contestants and sponsors joined us along with Jim’s family to place 400 muskies in the Petenwell Flowage. Our location was the north end of the flowage at the Jim Freeman Memorial boat landing just outside Nekoosa, WI.

This year we are dedicating these fish in memory of a great man, a friend and an advocate of the flowage. He is, “Jim Freeman”. Jim’s wife Karen, and son Josh, were with us today along with his brothers Wayne and Gordy. Karen and Josh were the first to place our muskies in the water followed by Wayne and Gordy. Everyone present was able to place a pail or two of muskies in the water.

These muskies hung around the shallows adjusting their eyesight and acclimating themselves to their new surroundings. These fish ranged in size from 14 -16 inches in length and once again were purchased from Gollon Bait & Fish Farm of Dorchester, WI.

It’s a great honor to inform you of the new totals we have for the stocking of muskies in the “Pete”. We have now stocked 5,905 muskies over the past 13 years. Think about that for a moment. Almost six thousand muskies stocked by our tournament. We are the perfect example of what team work can do. Be proud of what we’ve all achieved, I am!

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…”THANK YOU”. Thank you for your continuing support. Because of that support, this tournament is recognized as one of the elite musky tournaments in Wisconsin.
