With all this rain Petenwell is still at summer pool. However, the water flow is really moving.
Water flow is at 38,507.309 cfs.
As of this evening the level is at 923.224 ft (normal pool is 923 ft).

If you have to go out...use caution!

At the Petenwell Dam, normal water flow is somewhere between 8000-9000 cfs. As I said above it's at 38,507.309 cfs.

WPS is expecting the flow to reach 75,000 cfs by Saturday night or early Sunday morning. If if goes over the 75,000 cfs it will be a new record. WPS is calling this the "100 year flood".

Once the water flow peaks at Wausau, it takes two day before we see the water flow peak here.

There is no reason to be on the water with flows like this.

Today the Wisconsin River peaked here in Wisconsin Rapids. The water flow set a new record at 78,400 cubic feet per second (cfs).

Back in 1935 the flood waters were estimated at 75,400 cfs. In 1993 the flood waters were measured at 64,500 cfs.

Attached are some photos of the powerful Wisconsin River. It will be a few days before we get back on the water.

We did some rough figures. Converting cubic feet to gallons we did the math, using 78,500 cfs x 7.48= 587,180 gallons per second. Times it by 60 (seconds) you get 35,230,800 gallons per minute.
No matter how you figure it...it's a lot of water.

I am taking my dad out this weekend and was wondering if there are any spots anyone can recommend. I plan to throw for muskies for a while but will try to put him on some crappie or white bass. Any spots or presentations anone wants to share is appreciated. BTW, how is the water level?
