The week started with some good weather and ended with some high wind and cold front conditions.

We had mostly muskie anglers in camp this week with 8 boats casting and only one boat walleye fishing exclusively for the week.

Our group of 10 that fished muskies from 5 boats had a pretty good week, with 68 fish landed Fishing from Friday evening through Thursday night. Their largest fish were 48 and 48.5 inches, but had severl 50 inch class fish hooked during the week. Other groups of muskie anglers did well also...catching fish up to 49 inches.

Bucktails and rock structure were the main choices for everyone, but some fish were caught out of the weeds as well. Jerks and topwaters came into the picture as tools used in landing muskies also.

Walleyes were still mainly relating to rock structure, holding on the deeper edges of the reefs. Minnows were the most productive bait, with jigs as the lure of choice.

No word on crappies yet, but may have a bit of news on them after a few people go snooping around this weekend.

Good luck on the Labour Day weekend, wherever your fishing takes you.
