MUSKY FLYFISH

Hey Steve,
Gonna be coming up the 11th-21st... fishing with a friend of yours and Dannys at another lodge. Gonna be after the Big Girls , BUT.... Wondering where the smaliies are hiding on Eagle. I was up mid August 13-22 and we caught a good number with decent size. The majority in about 8-10 feet with crankbaits for the most part. As the week progressed they started to scatter. The last few days the 21st 22nd of August we actually started catching them on some of the Early fall shallow humps. 14-15 feet. What have you guys been seeing and using?

Thanks

theres some fish moving up onto humps already at 18-24' as you indicated,no one has really been targeting them much just catching them fishing walleyes when they get up to shallow then staying on them for a bit of variety. ronny barefield is guest instructor here ths week and an awesome bass fishermen,he caught some yesterday at 8-12' in bays with rock and weed mix on seinkos. water is cooling down so it should be a steady movement soon unto the reefs. usually when they make the move and start stacking up they are at 12-18' and typically big smallmouths show a preference for big live baits in the fall 4-5" on jigs.
