Over Saturday and Sunday with the inside bite diminishing, we headed offshore in 140-285 feet of water and took 5-6 person limits of Steelhead and Coho along with a few Kings and Lake Trout. The action was solid and very steady but with west winds gaining velocity into Monday, a run offshore was not an option as it would have been too rough out there.

So we gave the inside (40-55 feet) a try again and it paid off handsomely with a fast 3-person limit of 15 Kings and Coho that had us backing the Independence into the slip at 8am! We used Monday's blueprint for Tuesday morning's run and it was a similar bite although we had a little problem getting some of then to stick. Still, we returned to port with 19 mostly Kings and some nice Coho.

Wednesday morning was a little different and the fishing a little tougher. We marked tons of fish and balls of bait in the same spots where we had started fishing the previous days but the fish were not as interested. Further south where we had planned to steer, echoed a similar and even worse reports. So we stuck it out and worked at them for fair action and a few big Kings. I suspect the same fish we were catching Monday and Tuesday will get active again however and we probably just missed the feed.

We have a busy stretch again set to kick off again starting Friday. The table is set for some potentially good action as cold water is close to shore and is loaded with Kings and Coho that are preparing to spawn. The offshore option should remain as well if the weather conditions cooperate.
