I caught what should have been the biggest bass of my life yesterday afternoon. A Largemouth that was 24 inches long. According to the charts it should have weighed around 8 lbs. We weighed it with two scales. . . .4.5. I was shocked. I have caught a lot of 4-5 lb bass, 18-19 inches, but this was a real shocker. I am not sure if this heat affects their desire to eat, or if she was just old and not interested anymore. Should have been . . .

This hot weather really speeds up a fishes metabolism so they have to eat more just to maintain weight. I am guessing that is why the nice fish you described was skinny.
