I have been doing wrapping and finish practince on old rod and it's get better and prepare to build a first slip bobber rod for wisconsin river walleye, i been take a look at some of salmon/steelhead rod blank, i'm not sure about the action need to hookset a walleye
7 1/2 to 9 ft rod blank with fast action or extra fast and a good backbone but just curious common slip bobber rod for wi river ..

Josh - I have a couple of medium-light action 7 1/2' St. Croix Premier's that I use exclusively for slip-bobbering walleyes, and they work excellent! I'd highly recommend them...
