The Professional Musky Tournament Trail (PMTT) will visit the Chippewa Flowage Aug. 14-15 to conduct the third qualifying event in its four-event 2010 series.

At least 37 two-person teams are scheduled to fish the Big Chip as they attempt to earn points toward the prestigious PMTT Top Gun of the Year award.

Headquarters will be at the Flat Creek Inn and Suites in Hayward. Teams will launch out of the Highway CC South boat landing. Previous PMTT events this year have been April 17-18 at Cave Run Lake, Ky.; and June 26-27 on the Eagle River Chain of Lakes. The fourth qualifying event will be Sept. 11-12 on the St. Louis River near Duluth-Superior. The PMTT Ranger Boats World Championship will be conducted Oct. 9-10 on Lake Minnetonka in Minneapolis.

Teams must fish in at last two of the four events to qualify for the Ranger Boats World Champonship.

The PMTT contestants will be competing for a cash and prize value that could total well over $220,000 through out the year, with the possibility of winning more than $21,000 at every event and more than $40,000 in cash and prizes at the year-end championship.

The PMTT is directed by Tim Widlacki. Other staff are Bob Widlacki, Jim Saric, James Stella, Jason Summers and Ed Haagenson.

Good luck to all the Musky anglers.
