I am going to be traveling to North Country Lodge here in a couple weeks and was wondering about directions. I know that most people take the 502 north but i think i am going to try 71 this year and try and avoid the toll. does Gordon Lake Road go through to 647 or do we need to travel to Vermilion Bay to get to the lodge either way? Thanks.

There isn't a toll on 502. When we went up in Early July, there was about 15-20 miles of gravel/roadwork being done on 502.
502 only cuts off about 30 miles or so. We have been going home the last two years on 71.
My buddy goes up that way all the time and he said the road is terrible, especially if your pulling a boat. If I was you, I would go west on wighway 11 and go north to Nester Fall, that way, the road is really good.
