Short and sweet report this week. Very busy here at the resort and everyone is enjoying their time at the lake.

Walleyes were smoking hot early in the week before the wind came up. Reefs were the ticket, both shallower and deeper. Some boats reporting over 20 fish that were released 20" or better. One boat got 26, 26, 27, 28 in one afternoon in the same spot. Most guys in camp this week used bottom bounces with spinners and leeches or worms. Keep working new humps out there. Another boat got a 27 and 29 incher that they released after trying a "new" hump because another boat was on the hump they had planned to fish in that area. The winds blew hard, hard wednesday through friday and made life difficult, but peopple still caught some decent walleyes when the winds would die off for short periods.

Muskie action was good for the few anglers out there throwing for them. Topwater and spinner baits were the ticket later in the week as the fish seemed to move back into the weeds after appearing to be heading for summer rock structure. Water temps around 73 degrees most places. Average sizes of fish have been excellent this year with 40-43 being pretty common. One boat managed 50 and 52 inchers on back ot back evenings so they were pretty excited about those great fish! Topwater over weeds was the ticket both times for the big girls.

Still lots of nice northern action as well. Weeds, reeds, sand holding all kinds of slot sized northerns and many 36 and up.

Stable weather pattern in its second 3rd day now so the fishing should heat up again.

Get out there while you can. Hard to believe the end of July is just around the corner.
