Our July Meeting is tomorrow night at 6 PM at the Marina Boat Ramp at Alum Creek. The Boy Scouts of Troop 844 Alum Creek Church will be preparing and serving a dinner of smoked sausage, hot dogs and all the fixings. We have some left-over burgers from our June meeting as well. There will be a donation jar for the serving staff, and any money collected will be deposited into the troop scout accounts for their future camp-outs and activities. Please plan to donate whatever you feel is appropriate.

After dinner we will have a meeting to discuss some of the logistical needs for this Thursday’s youth event, including the coordination of volunteers. We will also discuss some potential dates for the rescheduling of last week’s postponed Nite Bite Outing. And last but not least, Elmer will be on-hand as well and he will be sharing information and facilitating a discussion about summer fishing.

The meeting will conclude after this discussion. Typically the chapter invites new members and guests out at these summer lake meetings for an evening of muskie fishing, but the risk of stressed fish and delayed mortality is too high at current water temperatures to be consistent with our promotion of CPR. You are welcome to go fishing after the meeting has finished, but it will not be club sponsored.

I’m planning on taking a couple of the Scouts out afterwards in search of that huge school of white bass.

Come hungry and I’ll see you at the Boat Ramp.
