5/27/10A.M. - Lake Delavan, waters temps 72 - 75 calm, 75 degrees.
Spent five hours covering a lot of water had a good time with a close friend in search of the biggest crappie in the lake! Ended up catching over fifty crappie the biggest just under 13 inches. Also caught a couple Pike, Bass and Bluegills my friend wanted to keep a few so we put 12 in a cooler for his fish fry with the kids.
I have been doing some presentation tweaking and came up with a real killer! I have attached a Smaller # 3 Tommy Harris Custom Painted Spinner to a beetle spin arm this blade gives A LOT more blade lift thumping real life looks that can be run higher at a slower speed the keys to catching more active fish. I added a Gulp 3" minnow for scent and lifelike looks. This combo has been a killer catching Panfish, Bass, Pike, and Walleye. With Tommy's deeper cupped blade it allows you to control a stop and sink into scattered weeds slow rolling over weeds effect that has been catching everything in the lake as our numbers to day show. We will be doing more with this combo in the coming weeks posting more than.
