With the mild weather the fishing has been hot. All species are holding in the new weeds in the 2-10 foot range on most lakes. Walleye have been doing very well on a jig and Fathead minnow or Leech. Also a side notes that I have been getting fish all day with a peak early and late.
Bass have been doing their annual love fest and can be found very shallow along with Bluegills in the same areas in some cases.
Musky opens this weekend and we are set up for a great opener. I would say Mepps #5 and small crankbaits should be hot this weekend. As always there may be some action on top water in the evening and larger baits during the day so don't get stuck in the spring rut, water temps are a little warmer than we normally see this time of year. Many fish seem to be showing signs of early summer patterns verse Memorial Day weekend. Go out and catch some fish this weekend, and good luck
