first guide dates went out yesterday.water temps surface 60's ranging from low to high depending on main lake or bays. rained with a lightning show after midnight quiting before daylight, cloudy am breaking into bright sun and wind around noon on. sw winds am moderate stepping up to 20 midday on.
walleyes are using both emerging weed areas 7-12' and rocky points, rock/weed comos 10-18',also caught some on bars 17-22' so they are scattered/moving around and using alot of diff structures.
catches were good, both boats boated 60-70, the group fishing primarily weeds and shallower caught more eater fish 15-18" with 1/3 in the slot and over and the group thats concentrated more on points and deeper srtucure boated more slot and over fish with lower % eater fish.
jigs and minnows, blues, purple, black when it was cloudy am and chart/plain lead was the sun broke out pm.
bass were not heavily on beds extreme west yet but caught several 4-5# fishing walleyes deeper,vb and south are getting it going.
some pike caught to 36" with the walleyes also.1 musky released at boatside on a jig fishing walleyes.
basically you need to check it all and mix up your patterns periodically as they appear to be in a transistion mode as the waters have warmed to high temps than typical for this time of the season going into mid june patterns already.
fish are moving around so what didn't have fish on it in the am could be a mother lode several hrs later and vice versa.
we'll have alot more reports starting next week as that is when we will be busy on and 7-8 guides going out daily.
good luck AND LET US KNOW WHAT YOU FOUND.
CHECK THE AVAILABLITY POST FOR REMAINING CABINS/AVAILABLITY.
