Hi everyone,
Guided a half day yesterday. Had two guys in my boat, and two tag along boats. The day started out slow. We began fishing deep water humps, with no results, than swithced to mid depth bog humps. Again no results. In the deeper water we were using jigs with either minnows or leeches.
That's when I decided to make a drastic change. We fished weed flats with crank baits. That was the ticket. We wound up with a mixed bag of Walleyes perch and crappie, and probably more Lg. mouth Bass than all other fish combined. Of interest is the fact we didn't cath many fish in one spot. We had to move around a lot. We ended with a total of 12 Walleyes between 7 guys,but kept only 7.
Being versatie again was the key. It's easy to get stuck in a rut. emember to swith tactics if what you are doing isn't working. If you would like to spend a day fishing the Chippewa Flowage with me, call or email me.
