Fishing continues to be very good out of Waukegan and should remain that way for the foreseeable future!

Despite facing a little more uncertainty based on Sunday's reports, we headed a little further offshore on Monday morning and successfully executed another limit catch of 18 Coho Salmon in 45-70 feet...in less than three hours. And we had interesting company on several occasion as well. Our first visitor appeared to be a finch that was looking for a place to rest offshore and so the 34' Independence gladly accommodated for a short period of time. An hour later or so, another tired bird perched on one of our fishing rods but then made its way up and under the windshield for a more comfortable ride back into the harbor.

The afternoon trip was a little slower at times but like one time out a few weeks ago, we lost a ton of fish! They were more scattered and we found pockets of fish where 2-3-4- rods would go off at once and then had periods of silence. We ended up with 22 fish in the box with easily as fish many lost too.

We didn't get out until about 7.30 on Tuesday morning but found that 55 feet of water held a loose school of fish and we boxed a two-person limit of 10 Coho, lost 5 or 6 more and released another .... all in less than two hours

We'll be back out Thursday AM.
