I'll be up fishing out of r&r bayview up by musky bay...any spots to focus on around that area for pike, walleye, and of course musky?

will be up the first week of June...whats the water temp usually like, oh and what color are the crayfish in the chip?

thanks Ric Soens

I would say the crayfish are....um......crayfish colored. Not sure what you mean but they aren't red or light colored. Just the plain old brown color.

As for spots, that's just not a good question to ask but I will say just look for good structure and baitfish and in general you will find what you are looking for in walleye, pike, and muskie.

Bucktails and topwater are usually two of the best choices for lures though.

Good luck,

I am not sure what species are in the Chip specifically, but the state is supposed to only have a few species. WI species include the devil, calico, northern clearwater, golden, rusty, virile, white river, and prairie crawfish. Most of these are indeed light brown/reddish gray. The devil crawfish is a nice shade of blue and the golden is...well you guess. You should see the intricate color that can be found in crawfish of the southern US.

Just some interesting results from a quick google search, but useful information for the question.

Thanx for the input...sorry about asking locations...my faux pau!

Thanx for the crayfish info... I just want to try and match the hatch the best I can... down here in Illinois alot of the crayfish have a heavy bluish tint...
I noticed Nelson lake had some real orange ones...so, hopefully a valid question...

See you on the water!

No problem, I just have never been asked that before.

Good luck,
