I took my boys down to their pap's farm pond to catch some bluegills this morning. My 3 year old was pulling in a small 'gill when this bucketmouth's instincts kicked in and hit the bluegill in distress. That happens frequently in this pond, but this was the first time the hook ever transfered from the 'gill to the bass. #10 hook, 4lb mono and an ultralight spinning reel. I did have to help him hold the rod, but he reeled the damn thing in the whole way. After we released him, I asked my boy how he enjoyed catching that bass to which he responded..."I want to catch something bigger!".

I just may have a musky man in the making.

Great looking Jr angler you have there! I'm sure he will be throwing Bull Dawgs before you know it. Great pic Mike

Sweet...... Be careful, I ruined my kid. He doesn't even want to trout fish anymore. I guess a couple 4 footers will do that to a kid.

We all need to do our part ++plus++ to get the youth involved in the outdoors. Good job getting him hooked at a young age.
