With 38 knot gusts and high winds out of the Northwest on Saturday we cancelled our fishing plans. Sunday James and his party came for some walleyes so we ran 20 miles from our marina (Oak Harbor) to the Michigan Border and hammered some huge walleyes. The water was so muddy in front of Wild Wings Marina and as we entered the Maumee Bay area water began to clear up and the walleyes were really cooperating. It started out slow and the amount of boats was unbelievable, so we got away from the packs and found walleyes Northwest of the Toledo light in 14 - 16 feet of water. Walleyes liked a light lift with purple/black hair jigs tipped with lake shiners. We ended up with 32 good walleyes, 20 - 25 inch average.
