I'm toying with the idea of getting a smaller boat for shallow water. Just wondering what other guys out there are running. Was kinda thinking a Jon boat with about a 65" beam. Is that going to be wide enough for casting? It has a front casting deck so I would assume it's fine. What about a tunnel hull for a Jon boat? Is it better to have that vs a flat bottom Jon? Any suggestions or pictures of what guys/gals are running would be great. Tanner what type and style of boat do you run? Beam width? Thanks, Jeff

Get as much width for the length as you can get away with cost-wise!!!

Jeff,
I have a lowe jon boat, it does have a tunnel hull, but I really don't think that makes much of a difference unless you get a jet drive to set it up properly. my boat is 17 feet long and has both front and rear casting decks, is heavy dutly aluminum, with flotation in the seats and the side. I love the boat I have, it takes alot of rocks, and floats high in the water, and is really easy to fish out of.
hope this helps.
