The witchin' hour...

Got the shack set and ready on LVD for a weekend of fishing. Found ice to be 18-22 inches thick in general, about 7-8 inches of that frozen slush. Mobility on the ice, for this time of year, is good to fair. It could be much worse and usually is. Generally found 8-12 inches of snow with deeper drifted areas but nothing a four-wheeler can't work through. There are vehicles travelling on the lake.

Fishing rates fair at the moment, pike are willing during the day but could be a little more active, same goes for the walleye but during low light conditions, such as morning/evening/cloudy days, and night of course. Still using small shiners set 12-24 inches off bottom. Been reports of wallys in the weeds as well as on the flats.

The weekend is supposed to be pretty nice, no reason not to get out and set some lines. Good luck to everyone.
