Yes, it's a ways off, but was wondering if you had any input on which lake(s) in the Hayward area offer the best summer walleye fishing. We'll be up the end of July - I'll be fishing muskies but have a few buddies who want to do some walleye fishing...

Moose Lake is a excellent Musky Lake and good walleye lake. It is a numbers lake for musky with many fish being between 24 and 36 inches. There is also several fish that can be caught over 40. Last year there was a 49 caught the year before a 53.
Walleye run a little on the smaller size but good numbers.
Grindstone lake is perhaps the hot lake for walleyes now. The slot size has helped the lake very much.
Sand Lake has some beautiful fish in it now also. 3 fish over 18 inches is what you have on that body of water. More of these fish are getting close to the 18 inch size now. You can catch a lot but they are around 16 inches.
The Flowage can be good also but you have to deal with a lot of water.

....but just in case you were looking for some good mapping data for the previously mentioned lakes, check out FishNBudz.com - you can not only get a lake map for the lake but you can also interactively mark where you caught fish and share those spots with your fishing network if you so choose.
