Hi everyone
Spent 4+ hours on a mid size area lake here near my winter home in Eagle River WI.Ice Fishing with 2 friends, we punched a lot of holes over a 24 feet deep sand grasss basin area.
We had action from the git-go on tippups baited with Golden Shinners, Walleye suckers, and Fatheads, and on our jigging poles baited with Spoons and Waxxies. But by 5:PM, the fish just shut right down. The Temp. went from 15 above to 5 below quickly as the skies cleared off, and the wind just died.
But no matter, we had a good day with a good mixed bag of Northerns, Blugills,Perch, and Walleyes. Pictured are the ones I brought home for a fish fry. We're in the deep freeze for a while, but it is supposed to warm up to the teens above zero by the weekend, so I'll be heading out again. Well, time to get the fillet knife. Talk again soon
