Ice conditions are inproving everyday. However, with the recent rain/snow the sloppyness returned for a couple of days. This stuff will freeze within the next couple of days, making travel real nice.

Most lakes have anywhere from 9 to 15 inches of ice, but that doesn't mean it is good ice everywhere. Some guys are driving trucks everywhere, but 4-wheelers and sleds are the safest option.

Walleye bite has been consistant to good for me. Fishing deep structures right now. I am targeting sandbars, rock humps, or deep grass from 24' to 42' feet.

Tip-ups with suckers rigged on 8lb Fluorocarbon leaders is the best bet. I have gotten some fish jigging using Jigging Raps, Chubby Darters, or just a Slow-poke jig and a fathead.

We have also gotten into some real nice perch while walleye fishing.

Had an awesome trip with the Matthews clan the other day....just goes to show what kind of bite can happen with the right weather conditions and being on the right structure.

Good Luck!
