Great weather for being outdoors in the winter brought lots of ice anglers out this past weekend. The hot fishing of mid-week slowed though as the barometer rose and so did traffic on the lakes. Still a great weekend to be on the ice.

Perch: Good. The deeper perch seemed less affected by the traffic and barometer. #2 pimples, #2 Hali jigs tipped with wigglers best. Nice catches of 8-9" fish with some 10"ers to make it interesteing over 14-22' of water.

Crappie: Good. Daytime action slowed on sunny days. Keep minnows on tip-downs or bobbers close by as the warm weather has made for a better minnow bite.

Walleyes: Good. Evenings and early mornings best. Some nice fish being caught by crappie anglers after dark. Jigging rapalas scoring well. On size exempt lakes, switch to small shiners or large fatheads when bite slows.

Pike: Good. Early mornings best for larger fish. 37"er reported this week. Big shiners, river shiners below tip-ups. Jigging large fats on slick jigs also fun.

Bluegills: Fair-Good. Bites vary. Last 1 1/2 hour before dark best. #10 purple moon glows tipped with spikes, Chena hot this week. Bites vary as Pike moving into areas scattering gills.

White fish: Good. Concentrate on breaks at 70'. #3,4,5 pimples tippes with waxies, gulp alive, Kast masters, Rattle spoons.

Could get rain this Saturday, but, otherwise nice temps fro traveling and covering ice.

We are still not advising truck travel, but there is a lot out there. Stick to ATV or Snowmobiles.
