There Is Approximately 2 Inches Of Snow Atop 6 Inches Of Ice On The Main Lake. Due To The Large Amount Of Snow, The Ice Forms Considerably Slower. Areas Where The Water Moves (current, Wind ) Will Freeze At A Slower Rate And Is Hard To Predict Once It All Appears Frozen. There Are Open Areas Along Shorelines Where Home Owners Are Using Aerators. There Are Ridges, Breaks, And Layering Under The Snow Blanket Making The Ice Is Not Good Quality. Caution Must Be Taken. Open Areas Are Usually Marked By Lots Of Geese Congregated. Ple Ase Be Aware That Many Homeowners Do Not Restrict Their Aerators To Their Own Docks So Water Moves Rapidly Beneath The Ice For Long Stretches Beyond The Homeowners Dock Severly Impacting The Ice. Most Channels Have 6 Inches Of Ice. Indian Lake State Park Rangers Recommend 4 Inches Of Good Quality Ice For Ice Fishing And 6 Inches Of Ice For Snowmobiles Or Atvs. The Lake Is At Normal Pool (as Measured At The Spillway). Visibility Is 9 Miles. Wind Is North Northwest At 8 Mph. The Barometer Is 30.34°f And Rising. It Is Cloudy.

LongIsland was producing nice limits of Saugeyes, last week with 7inches of ice.The bite was real good from 7-8am and then returned from 4-6 pm.I would not fish now because of the higher temps but would definetly return if cold temps came back not likely in the next week! C.B
